Don’t Be Fooled
Fitness Tip: Don’t Be Fooled – Always be suspicious of celebrity endorsements of home equipment that promise a total body workout in minutes a day. The celebrities and models that you see in the commercials got in that condition with months or years of hard training. If the product is new, it is impossible to build a fantastic physique in such a short time span. Celebrities are paid very well to market those products because of their public influence. Many of them actually have a stake in the company. I’m not knocking anyone’s hustle, but I want you to be aware.
Similarly be skeptical of fat burning diet pills and last, but not least, exercise fad/gimmick infomercials. Companies market all types of pills, powders, and potions that appeal to your desire to lose weight fast. Pills didn’t get you into the condition you are in today (unless you had a serious medical condition) so they will not get you into the shape you want to be in the future. For the most part, some can help accelerate results with a corresponding nutrition and exercise regime. While the companies provide astounding results in clinical trials (they funded, go figure!), most of your results will come from a placebo effect.
I speak from personal experience when I mention that. Many years ago as an obese teenager, I tried them all- Hydroxycut, Nutrex Lipo 6, VPX Redline, etc. Guess what? Everytime I took the pills exclusively, I never lost weight. The time that I changed my diet (permanent lifestyle change!) and started to exercise, I lost 87 pounds in 7 months. Moral of the story, supplements can help but only with corresponding lifestyle changes.
